Ultraviolet light in the C spectrum (UV-C)
UV-C technology is integrated as competitive value-add product differentiator to our mitigation processes.
We have highly effective technologies and solutions for infection prevention including UV-C light sterilization that is chemical free and leaves zero residue.
Omicron was the light weight version of COVID-19. It's not over. We are prepared with UV-C for the heavy weight version, be it is sigma, phi or omega.
WHAT IS UV LIGHT? Ultraviolet (UV) light is a form of light, invisible to the human eye, that exists on the electromagnetic spectrum between X-rays and visible light. We are exposed to low levels of UV light from the sun’s rays every day, although much of the UV energy is absorbed by the ozone layer.
Ultraviolet light in the C spectrum (UV-C) is energy-rich light with a wavelength of 200 – 400 nanometres (nm). UV-C light is very versatile and can be used for disinfecting water, destroying harmful micro-organisms in other liquids, on surfaces, on food products and in 'air'.
UV sterilization is a fast-growing and invaluable option for preventing the spread of hospital acquired infections, or HAIs. While you may have questions when it comes to what UV sterilization is and what it can do for your healthcare facility, there is no doubt that UV sterilization is incredibly effective in killing infectious bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
Where can UV-C be used? While UV sterilization can be used as a supplemental infection control strategy for almost any situation, such as disinfecting water and work surfaces as mentioned above, the efficiency of the sterilization make other specialized spaces accessible as well. Because UV sterilization isn’t a wet solution like other disinfectants that can leave behind residue, it can be used as a more efficient solution for ensuring that equipment and instruments are effectively cleaned.
